List of Supported Routers

Adam Apr 18

Here, File File! requires the use of either an AirPort base station with NAT-PMP (NAT Port Mapping Protocol) enabled, or a third-party Internet router with UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) technology.

Note: Even though your router may support NAT-PMP or UPnP, it may not be enabled by default. Consult your router's documentation to find out how to enable it. We have provided documentation for enabling NAT-PMP for Airport routers.

Note: Make sure that your router's firmware has been upgraded to the latest version.

Note: Here, File File! may not be able to auto-configure your network, even if you are using one of the routers listed below,  if you have more than 1 router on your network. Some all-in-one router/modems provide UPnP and DHCP support in addition to your wireless router, and this doulbe router configuration prevents HFF from being accessible outside your network. In this case, you may need to configure your Airport for Bridge Mode, or if possible reduce your network to only 1 router.

Apple Branded Routers

Compatible Apple Airport devices

  • AirPort Express
  • AirPort Extreme Base Station (all models)
  • Time Capsule (all models)

Apple Airport devices that are not compatible

  • AirPort Base Station (Graphite)
  • AirPort Base Station (Dual Ethernet)

Non-Apple Branded Routers

This table lists recommended routers. This list may change as new routers are released, and as firmware is upgraded by manufacturers. We make every effort to ensure that Here, File File! works with these and other routers, but we are not responsible for your network setup or functionality. Please download the HFF Mac Helper App and verify your network configuration before purchasing.

We also provide a number of router walkthroughs to help you configure your network.
